ABOUT US
Anderson Island Fire & Rescue (AIFR) is a part of the Pierce County Fire Service, designated as Pierce County Fire Protection District #27. We serve the community of Anderson Island, WA, the southernmost island in the Puget Sound, with a square footage of 7.75 square miles (20.1 km ).
Anderson Island has a fulltime population of approx. 1,500, swelling to approx. 4,000 during the summer season. Operating on an island only accessible by ferry or private boat, AIFR is often presented with unique challenges.
AIFR operates from Station 27 located on Lake Josephine Blvd. While the station is not manned 24/7, our volunteers are quick to respond any emergency, any time - day or night.
