Fire Chief

Chief J Wiggins began his fire services career as a volunteer firefighter in 1980, shortly after moving to the island. As an integral part of that early team, Wiggins worked in every operational capacity as he rose through the ranks, promoting to a chief officer position in 1989 and to District Fire Chief in 2024.

As an EMT, Chief Wiggins continues to contribute to the health and safety of those who live in our community, often arriving first on scene and providing emergency medical treatment and services whenever needed. Chief Wiggins is an accomplished leader, offering over 40 years of experience focused on operational improvements, emergency medical services, and firefighter training.
